The russians have been ahead of us in terms of avionics for......well basically since it started to matter.

Well I would say I agree in some sense, I prefer jet aviation.

but dont knock the classics, aviation technology is a continual advancement, without the lessons learned back then avaiation would be nowhere, not to mention the dogfighting techniques we use can trace their roots back to the original teaching learned in WWI
